Although you may have problem getting a good color match, I'd highly recommend using Plasti-Dip. They make this stuff in white & black and it comes in liquid or spray-can. Easy to apply. After about 3 or 4 coats you'll have a fairly thick rubber like coating that protects much better than paint. Doesn't chip. I use it all the time on small welding projects. Works much better than paint and it's very easy to touch-up. FWIW, some folks have even used black Plasti-Dip to "black out" their entire vehicle. It's available at Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
My shelves are white wire type and have a few rust spots, is there a type of paint to touch these up. Thanks Michael - wa8yxmExplorer IIIThere are some very good paints out there... The best would be baked on enamel but odds are you do not have the hardware to do that.
There are some EPOXY paints that I plan to try on mine.
But other than that I'd go with rust control OTHER than Rust-o-lem Say ACME rust control (Sherman Williams may have that)
or any good automotive grade finsh as well.
The problem with Epoxy paints is that they have a fairly long cure (Drying) time.. For me, this is an issue, since I full time. - ScottGNomadCW is going to hate me for this but I noticed that they had a fenced off area behind the shop that had a bunch of dead fridges in it. Some of them had nicer shelves than mine and it just happened to be a Sunday when the repair shop was closed...
