Front Electric Jacks won't work

OK I hope I explain this right, We have Electronic Jacks and the Front Jacks won't work with the up/down switch on the 5th wheel. BUT they do work with the remote. DH bought a new switch and installed it. Still would not work, but remote works. What could be our problem? Even dealership is researching this. HELP, we won't want to rely only on the remote.

You can easily check for 12 volt power with one of these. Much easier to use than a meter!

X2 on the old standby testlight. The test light will tell you wether or not you have power to the circuit or not whereas the voltmeter, directions are simple to understand, will tell you how much voltage you have, if any, in the circuit also once you learn the volt meter you will find many many more uses for it.

    Good Luck

OK we have one of these, Performance Tool - Electrical Tester, so will give it a check, let you know,
  • Odds are there isn't much power going through that switch- we really need to know the make and model of the landing gear setup.

  • Unless you have a volt meter and have at least some clue how to use it, your going to be totally out of luck. Throwing parts at the problem is only going to cost you a lot of money and possibly not fix the problem. Get a volt meter and learn how to use it.

    What does your meter say?

not sure what you mean, the voltage meter that you would test the wires? We don't have a voltage meter,

First things first. Do you have power to the switch? I suspect not.
Since you say you have a remote, I am guessing you have a controller that receives either power from the switch and another source. So my guess there is no power through the switch. Time for a volt meter and start tracing.

Yes we have it plugged into the house and it has always worked before, also battery is completely charged.
