  • Thanks -- He is going to do that also. Did find a label on the air cleaner under the dog house but still can't locate where the switch is. He is keeping at the problem though and you have been a big help. Thnaks again Nan
  • Pressure could be leaking back to the tank. You could try turning the igntion switch on for a few seconds two or three times. This will give the pump more time to get the fuel to the TBI.
Have you changed your filter on the frame rail recently? A clogged or partially clogged filter will restrict the fuel flow.
  • Oh yes we are just about to turn over 68000 miles. This has been one great motorhome for us.
  • We know it is a 7.4.V8 TBI L19 Engine. We have a long cranking period after it sits for a while, then runs great. Thanks everyone - he has looked in both areas and so far cannot find the switch. Will keep trying. We have the manual that came with the motor home as we purchased it new in '96. We have called Chevy and they switched us over to a mechanic who said take it in for a pressure check -- but if we can fix it without all that cost we sure would like to do that lst. What do you think Bud?
  • Not sure on yours, but there may also be a little square relay in a socket in the fuse panel.
  • Fuel pump is in the tank
Fuel pump relay is mounted inside the doghouse opposite side of the housing from gas pedal. Relay only runs for a few seconds after turning on the ignition switch.
What is your problem or symptoms?
Your engine should be a 7.4!
