Hi Guys,Sorry to be a pain but, I'm confused. I did the breaker routine and found the circuit that is tripping the GFI. However, the breaker is marked general, Where the heck do I start? I am not an electrician.

I don't recall the context - you've got a GFCI outlet that's tripping with no load (nothing plugged in) or under load (something plugged in)?What's tripping - the breaker or the outlet itself?There are usually several outlets on any circuit. What's going on with the other outlets?

Remove the GFCI receptacle from the wall.Disconnect the load side of the wiring, back of receptacle will indicate "Load".See if GFCI trips. This will or should prove whether it is the GFCI or beyond it.Get one of the little plug in style circuit analyzers to find which receptacles are fed from the tripping GFCI receptacle. Could be something plugged in to the receptacle or could be refer element going to ground.Report back!

CONverter?Yank the shore power connection. Disconnect the BLACK 120 volt wire connected to the converter where it is marked LINE. Tape the end of the disconnected black wire. Connect shore power. Does the GCFI fault? It's silly to connect a converter to GCFI. Methinks there is misdiagnosis going on here. Never have seen an RV use a decent GCFI. And I would not be caught dead with a Leviton. Go to HOME DESPOT and forget the bargain GCFI units. Purchase a 20-amp rated quality brand. Install it then light it off to test.

One GCFI powering a dozen devices and countless receptacles down line is a good way to make you go buggnuts. Aggregate Micro-leakages total up and force the ground fault to do it's job. Like a burglar alarm covering 30-homes with no indicator circuit. One receptacle for each GCFI. I don't have time to play Inspector Clouseau with daisy-chain jigsaw puzzles.

Did you ever disconnect the shore power from the rig? You only need to disconnect the neutral(white) wire from the 120 volt distribution neutral buss.
It is possible that your cord body is corroded internally causing the GFCI issue.

I would guess that somewhere in your RV the neutral, white wire, and ground, green wire, are touching.
Use a volt/ohm meter. With your rig unplugged check for continuity between the ground and neutral prongs on the plug on the shore power cord. There should NOT be any continuity between them.

I have now discovered GFI trips at house on all breakers. I will pull the inverter(converter) tomorrow.

Have you had bad luck with Trotters in Kingman? They are a lot closer then Las Vegas.

Don't give up yet!
Identify what is on the general purpose circuit.
It could be the converter if it is on this circuit.
Post make and model!
See if you can disconnect it with out too much trouble. Depending on converter it could be as simple as unplugging it.

If you're having a problem with something and need advice, I'd suggest to post some detailed information about the situation. Some folks are clueless about certain systems and approach a problem using a "shot gun" resolution process. They seek individual resolutions and try each one out, hoping for an instant fix.
The better approach is to trouble shoot, using knowledgable information about the system involved.

Have you tested the shore cord for proper continuity with a meter?
