Heads Up PayPal Pay After Delivery Nightmare!

MexicoWanderer must have misunderstood as I can't see anyone agreeing to that after understanding how it works. From what I can see you have no recourse for repayment other than through Paypal, which is no recourse at all.

According to that it's not really "Pay After Delivery" it's "Pay After 14 Days, Delivery or Not". :) Definitely needs to be retitled.

What is Pay After Delivery?
Pay After Delivery gives you 14 days for your item to be delivered before you pay for your purchase. There's no cost to you - because the money is deducted from your bank account, there's no credit check and no credit card fees.
How it works

Click the "Enroll" button to sign up for the Pay After Delivery service – there is no cost to you.
Add and confirm your Bank Account so that you can take advantage of Pay After Delivery.
PayPal will pay the seller immediately, but will not deduct the money from your bank account until 14 days later.
We'll send you a reminder email four days before we deduct anything so you won't find any surprises.

Looks to me like it clearly states the money will be taken from your bank account.

It also appears to offer zero protection to the buyer because the seller is paid immediately and PayPal essentially 'loans' you the money. It isn't really "Pay After Delivery" in actuality it is 'Buy Now and Pay Later'. They simply loan you the money for 14 days.

I think you misunderstand what you signed up for.

Are you unclear on the subject? If the order does not show up it does not get paid for. UPS, China Post, FedEx whatever I am not about to start resolving THEIR problems for them.

Someone else can "Look Into" dysfunctional shipping. This stuff is from the far east through eBay via PayPal. They have serious problems. With me, that HAD serious problems. The end.

I've never used the "Pay After Delivery", since I figure that if they push it that hard it probably won't be for my benefit. I opened up an ATM account. In that account I transfer JUST ENOUGH MONEY to cover VISA online purchases. But the PayPal link to bank account option bypasses this security (stupid me)!

I am tired of ordering stuff that never shows up or the last order from sanny-technology that delivered 5500K 30 watt chips that are yellow and have the + and - terminals REVERSED on the chip. Different chips operate at different temperatures and lumens using a precision adjustable power supply. sanny-technology is giving me the run-around.

Thirty five dollar fines from Wells Fargo to my account. I forbid them to transfer funds. Like Jim Varney used to say NOW DO I LOOK LIKE I GOT THE WORD STUPID WRITTEN ALL OVER MY FACE?

I clicked yes, CLOSE ACCOUNT. They wanted my VISA card number and my bank account number, or they would not deduct a dollar fifty cents from my account and close it.

You *can* be really screwed by Paypal (and ebay who owns PP) sometimes. Paypal has screwed some account holders to the tune of thousands of $$ in some cases, has arbitrarily closed accounts and has refused to discuss anything with with account holders.

It's been my experience that if you want to resolve an issue with ebay or Paypal, you'd be better off talking to a brick wall or going to another planet. I wouldn't use a bill-me-later plan.

I've been using ebay for 15 or so years but avoid buying anything there now unless it is significantly cheaper or is hard to find. The cost of many items is much higher than you will find elsewhere. Somebody has to pay for the high ebay and paypal fees. It's not a good place for small time sellers anymore. I don't know if they still do it, but for a while, new sellers had to ship an item before they got paid.

We have a bank account and CC linked to Paypal and have never had a single problem. DW is an accountant though and frequently checks all of our banking online.

The problem with Paypal - all their services - is that they are a subdivision of Ebay. Too big corporation, too many transactions, sometimes they put money on hold without any reason - like $50 or 60, - amount not that high so as to cause any "investigation". Sometimes they charge my credit card while I specifically asked to charge my ban account. Just a poorly functioning system. I'm trying to avoid them when I can.

Been using Paypal and EBay since their inception. NEVER withdraw from checking.
ALWAYS go thru a CC. I got scammed once (never got product from US seller) before Paypal was bought by EBay and before the big class action lawsuit and I got all my money back. That's when I learned about using a CC only. I have never had a problem with China BUT I don't buy big ticket items. Cables, chargers, LEDs etc.

You have to pay attention.

check out "paypalsucks.com" for glowing reviews. the only way I would let them get to a bank account would be to have a totally separate account with limited funds in it.
I am interested in that wireless headset linked to in another thread but it is at paypal so that is out.

I'd be interested to know how the overcharge occurred? Sounds kinda scary. My limited experience with PayPal has been mixed - the initial guys answering the phone only read from a sheet of canned answers so asking for a senior tech will save you lots of time.
