HELP - I'm running out of time, and everything is WET
Hi folks, I need some fast advice for covering or sealing or building some sort of roof/cover until spring!
Long story short - bought an old RV that had known leaks, started tearing open the inside ceiling to repair and then re-seal roof. Typical, roof is in way worse condition the more we dig. Throw on top of that the fact that IT WON'T STOP RAINING HERE. We keep trying to makeshift cover, but we still have massive repairs and holes, and it's almost winter (upstate NY).
I'm too late to store it anywhere now. It's STILL RAINING. I also can't get it into my backyard, so it's stuck in my driveway where it's going to have to stay through the winter.
The inside is just soaked. We've resigned to having to pull everything out and just do a complete rebuild (yes, I'm masochistic.). We still have one big corner that the edge of the roof is just wide open to fix, and some weird spot over the cab that also leaks - I don't know if this weirdo warm weather will hold long enough for us to actually finish the repairs and get it sealed, because it has to be >50F for both the primer/base and the sealant, and again, I"m in upstate NY and that's just really unlikely, without f*%^*ng raining as well.
To account for the guaranteed snow, what's some suggestions for protecting the roof until the spring, when we can really work on it? Was thinking of building sort of a roof out of 2x4 and a thick tarp, and tuck it up under the edge of my roof (my driveway is one right next to the house...)
If someone could tell me how to put a pic in here, I can show where it's going to be all winter.
(For the record, we're both really handy, and I've personally done a LOT of home remodeling and shed building, so building/making things isn't an issue, this is just a race against time and weather....)
TIA!
