Good evening everyone,My wife and I are nearing the end of a major interior renovation in our Arctic Fox 26J travel trailer. My problem is, I installed a new Dometic 310 porcelain toilet and the fresh water connection will not bend enough for the connection (see Picture). I cut the wallboard behind it to raise the level that it comes out of the wall but there is a stud running 2X2 running horizontally just above it. The hose is extremely stiff and will not make the bend to the connector. Do they make 90-degree elbows so I can connect 2 of them to lower the entry height? I don't really like that idea because of the multiple failure points but it will be the easiest. Is there some kind of flexible hose I can connect to the semi-rigid hose that will have the same connectors? I'm not sure if there is there is enough room for that. Is this connection a standard plumbing fitting? Any other suggestions?Thanks,Frank

Yes. Most RV plumbing is standard 1/2 Inch IPT thread, You can get elbows at Lowes, Sears, Joe's plumbing, Ace Hardware, They all fit.You can also get very flexible hose (Has a braided steel jacket) and do the loop-de-loop with it. Same source list. NOTE: Joe's plumbing is Generic name for any plumbing or hardware palce.

braided stainless looks like one with female on both ends and a loop your good to go. you might want to put a valve in that line for a quick shut off. take one of the fittings off and head to lowes .I put just a tad of pipe dope on the threads,makes easy coming off and a good seal.

Sharkbite elbow...lots of sizes available.Home Depot, etc.

1/2 inch threaded end. Try PVC ends, glue and make your own. You might even be able to match with L joints using galvanized pipe also, as long as it's threaded 1/2 inch. Try it, you've got nothing to looses unless you want to spend a small fortune in a PEX pipe crimper and stay with PEX.I mixed both types, it worked out just fine here: click here

FYI if you use a premade toilet flexible pipe with a fitting already on each end, which would be great idea....better read the instructions. Someone suggested using pipe dope. The ones I used recently said NOT to use pipe dope. They have rubber gaskets built in and need no pipe dope /teflon tape.

I installed the same toilet in our trailer and had the same problem. My brother had PEX crimpers and fittings so we just installed two 90 degree elbows. It worked out well.

Look in the lawn sprinkler/irrigation area or a hardware store for "funny" pipe connectors or flexible pipe. I used a flexible sprinkler pipe and it fit perfectly on the toilet and the RV piping as it came from the store. No other fittings needed, it is blue plastic and very bendy but it is not a color match for the rest of the toilet decor.
Oh well, my trailer is 25+ years old and decor is not the priority.

I used a metal braided flexible hose with the proper size fittings.

Thanks sch911, I didn't realize my picture didn't post and thanks to everyone else for the suggestions. I just found out I have access to a PEX crimper for 1/2" and 3/4" so if I can find the right fittings that should be the safest way to go. If not I will try the flexible hose loop then the two 90 degree connectors. I am looking forward to getting this connected so I can un-winterize for our first trip of the year coming up in a couple of weeks.

I will let you know how I make out.
