Holiday Rambler Electrical Issue

My buddy has a 2003 Holiday Rambler Vacationer 33ft. He has no interior lights or outlets working. With shore power plugged in he measures 220V at the gfi outlet? Any ideas? Thanks!

With the exception of an electrical fire, this is as bad as it gets. Many expensive appliances are probably junk now. Unplug and get a professional to track down the problem.
  • Try disconnecting from shore power. Start genset and check voltages.
It may be too late if it was connected up to system with open neutral or incorrectly wired shore connection.

Where is this GFI located? my guess would be a bad meter.

If he's using an adapter to go from 30A to 15A the adapter might be bad. Otherwise I second the professional.

No, both 15 and 30 amp have ONLY ONE HOT. No way to get 220 VAC with only one hot.
  • Is this at a camp ground or at home-wired outlet.

    50 amp coach or 30?

Something IS mis-wired, and DANGEROUSLY SO.

Disconnect immediately and find and fix the cause before plugging back in.

  • Open neutral!
Unplug immediately and get some qualified electrical help.
    Damage may have already occurred.
