How to disconnrct DC power.

I have an older "C" and it's been buried in the snow for three months. Finally got to it and charged the batteries. I discovered that the house battery was deader than a door nail. Went to bed last night and noticed a cabin light burning brightly. That explains why the battery was dead but does not explain why that circuit was alive. I turned off the breakers on the converter and thought I was done. Is there another hidden breaker or must I disconnect the battery? Will this effect the coach battery?

  • The breakers on the converter are most likely for your AC power, there should also be blade fuses for 12V DC power.

The easiest way to disconnect is to add a battery switch, but you can also remove the ground from the battery. The chassis and house batteries are probably separate unless being charged by the alternator and then there should be an isolation switch of some sort.

You will want to inspect the battery for cracks, if it was dead and it froze the case could crack.
