Hydraulic Levelers

I have a 2003 Winnebago sightseer with hydraulic levelers, while driving or setting the right rear leveler drifts down causing a warning leveler down warning.I checked my hydrolic level and its ok.Any ideas.

Thanks John
  • Can be a leaky seal in the ram or a leaky control valve. Not necessarily an external leak, it can leak from the pressure side to the return.

Single action cylinders or dual action?
If single action, check for weak or broken return spring.
If dual action, there is a leak at the cylinder.
  • Mine have springs, don't seem like it could ever happen.
Must be 2 way cylinder leaking internally,....can't believe they would build such a thing.

it's either that or a bad solenoid. I've had both on a previous MH.

What make and model levelers do you have? Are you sure the jack is extending or is just the light on the dash going on saying jacks are extending?
  • Odds are from your model year you have an HWH 300 series system. If so, the manual states and is true, EVERYTIME, you start the engine you MUST push the STORE button. 300 series HWH systems, the road/chassis system heat can cause the HYD fluid in the lines to expand slightly and a jack may extend up to a inch and by having the unit is STORE, the system is in hibernation and IF this happens the system comes on automatically, opens the offending solenoid and the jack auto retracts BEFORE the system light and alarm sounds.
