Ice maker quit working

We have a Norcold 1200 LRM, 4 door frig/ freezer with ice maker.

Was working fine then stopped. We are hooked to city water, pressure is good.
Came back the other day to find they (campground) had turned all water off for a few hours. Hasn't worked since then.

Have tried turning whole system off and back on, nothing. It is in our 2001 holiday rambler imperial. Might I have hit a switch somewhere? Where should I look?

Thanks.
  • ODDS are the icemaker is rusted---motor and such. The ONLY thing to do is to pull the Icemaker and take the end cover off and check for rust/corrosion. Doug
  • I am not an RVer... air in the line remaining after they turned off the water?

I often have to put water in the tray so it will freeze and then it starts to work on it's own. Sometimes it takes two fillings before it works right.
  • The Icemaker is automatic. Once 120 power is supplied and you have water and the freezer gets below 10 degrees AND the bin metal arm is DOWN, it will operate. There are NO kill switches for a RV Refer Icemaker. Doug
  • I am in the process of resurrecting a 98 rv that appears to have sat out the last ice age.

As doug said the ice maker will just start working. The ice will come eventually as the air is pushed out of the line and the bins are filled with water. Until the bins get water and not air the ice maker just keeps cycling. Definitely should see a couple ice dumps by morning.

Ditto: A turkey baster works for me.

Also look for excessive ice build up in the back. Sometime I have to defrost the freezer to get things working again.
  • Is there a way to defrost just the freezer. Can't say that I have any decent sized coolers around.
