Inverter Help

battery damage
the converter will be drawing power, from th inverter aka batteries
trying to charge the batteries
its and endless loop loosing power

example my converter is 75 amps charge, my inverter is 2000w
if i forget to turn off the converter
the inverter draws 89 amps to power the converter, while the converter is charging at 65amps using the inverter for power
according to the numbers i saw on my meters

this is a 24 amp loss all in conversion use , mainly heat
each unit is only about 85% efficient, so each one looses/uses 15%
this does a number on my batteries real fast

you must find a way to turn off or unplug the converter
or go back to using extension cords
from the inverter to your TV etc..

your converter is probably NOT that large
but it is still an endless loss that is not needed and will eventually hasten battery death

Thank you to all for suggestions and most of all your patience. Inverter is fine although per Mr Wizards directions I cannot turn off converter in order for inverter to work. Will this lead to any damage?

Bingo Mr Wizard. Went right to 30 amp oulet in shore cord compartment. Power to all outlets. Thanks also for heads up about converter off and fridge on lp only.

I think I looked up the proper inverter but maybe not.

If I am correct it sure does not look like it has a way to power outlets other than the ones on the unit,

If you have something plugged into the front right now that may be a television.

And if you have the ignition switch on there may be a relay shutting it off if the tv is mounted up front

it might go to the sleeping area, the previous owner might have used a CPAP machine at night

it might goto the shore cord bay, in which case you plug the shore cord into the cord and power the RV, but you 'MUST' turn off your converter or have an endless power loop drain the batteries, also fridge on LP only not Auto Not AC

it might go to where ever he had his TV mounted

Tested every plug with multi tester with plug in inverter in one outlet then the other, nada. Looks like Im going to be tracing the plug that goes somewhere or other. Going to try and download manual for any help it will give.

That Galaxy inverter is going to be an aftermarket add-on by the previous owner. You are going to need to trace out the wiring to know how it is connected. No one online will be able to tell you exactly where it is connected into the OEM electrical system, they can only guess at best.

Trace it out to understand how it is connected. It will better help you know about your RV anyway.

You assured the inverter is providing an output and tested every outlet in the camper, correct? As in, plug in a lamp into the outlet on the inverter, lamp lights, plug cable going who-knows-where into that outlet you just tested and then plug the lamp into EVERY outlet you find in the camper to see if any lights the lamp. Don't test one inverter outlet and then plug the who-knows-where cable into the other. When testing the camper duplex outlets plug the lamp in both outlets. It may be wired to where one is inverter and the other shore power.

Or maybe it just goes nowhere. You'll have to track it down

Sorry yes there is a plug in one of the outlets i assumed provided 110 power to the outlets which it is not. As I stated earlier it does work if something plugged directly to outlet in inverter. Before I begin to trace the wire from the plug is there anything I can do otherwise? What am I looking for other than disconnected wire when I begin my search. Also where does the plug wire hook into to help with my tracing it. Thank you very much. Newbie who is seriously trying to learn the systems

I ASSUME it has 2 each 120VAC outlets. If nothing is plugged into the 2 outlets it isn't powering anything. If you want it to power some outlets you will need to wire it to do so. Know what you are doing before you attempt this.
