yes distribution panel = breaker box, terms are interchangeable
dip switch 4, on the back of the remote, controls 'charge and invert'
if #4 is on, it will NOT charge unless on-off remote panel switch is on
if remote is malfunctioning, you need to bench test BOTH freedom units
like i described above, with out the remote, if you can not get pass thru power on the bench, with no remote, then there is a problem with the relays/or the relay controls ? line sense ?
you could leave the 110v in/out disconnected
connect the battery wires to the F-20, put a RV plug on the F-20 110out
and when you want inverter...plug shore cord into F-20 and use the main power switch to turn on inverter
this does not help with charging, but it does mean you only need to buy something for charging if you want to goto separate devices
if you have the space there to mount a converter aka some charger
budget wise that would be my choice
the F-20 is still a heck of an inverter (it ran your A/C)
more than enough power for MW and outlets and TV
