Inverter won't turn off.

So my 13 month old Nature Power PSW http://www.naturepowerproducts.com/product-details.php?id=130 is on the fritz.
When I push the button to turn it on, it turns on.
When I push the button to turn it off, it STAYS on!
I have to actually disconnect the battery to get the inverter to turn off.
Anybody every have that problem?
I'm out of warranty, so I'm wondering if buying the $40 remote switch will bypass the mounted switch and get everything back in working order. It's a real PITA to keep disconnecting the battery.

.....And my water pump quit working at I was packing up to head home. At least that part happend at the end of the trip!

Yes. If you have a small battery array and no solar, then many people choose to turn it off.

I have solar which is constantly charging, so to me, it's not an issue. Leaving it on does not make it wear out faster. Were I in your shoes, I might consider more battery to make up for it, rather than a switching system.

I'm not familiar with that brand of inverter. Are they expensive?

It was $500 from camping world..
….and a crazy amount to install at my local rv dealer.

  • Hi,

Add a disconnect switch in the positive wire to the inverter. Napa sells one with a plastic "key" for $7.00.
