I dont think the previous owner completely made up the story. He works in the RV industry. Im probably making a mistake by saying the "owner" of FR. President maybe? Steve from accounting?
From what ive seen it would make sense if the previous owner lied. Whenever i come across the crazy construction i think..."didnt the installers know it has custom things and they wouldnt want any errors coming back to their boss??" It would be a normal thought for them to think the future owner of the trailer is somehow friends with a high up at FR. Gotta be extra careful. Guess not huh? Would think the message would pass down the assembly line. Yo...its for the bosses friend. (in spanish) Hola...es for el hefe amigo~~
Even simple stuff like playing the stereo comes out with static and feedback. Because the power wires and speaker wires are ran through the same darn hole!! I cut a hole in my cabinet and stuck my hand up there and used aluminum foil to try and shield the speaker wires. Works a little better. I use a little portable bluetooth speaker instead. Maybe the guy testing the stereo system didnt have lights turned on.
I work in the RV Industry----50 years. 5 building them in Middlebury, Indiana. There is no way on a regular trailer you are going to get a modification done that is not a standard option. I don't care who you are in the RV industry. AND, FR is a LARGE company with tens of thousands of employees. Doug
