If what I read on another thread is fact, the B&D charger advances to 14.8 volts then stays there, for someone afraid of their ability to charge batteries, I recommend this charger. And a way to float batteries at 13.4 volts when not in use.
Every two weeks have the B&D charge the batteries for two hours at 14.8 volts upper limit voltage cutoff. You can hook up a timer can't you? If the timer forces you to a weekly schedule charge for 1 hour at this voltage. You must check watering once a month - no way around that.
Batteries need to be charged ASAP after being discharged. Just as soon as you get home.
I based the B&D interval charging on you having a 13.4 volts float charge.
Mex, unfortunately the 1093 doesn't work like that. It does not get to 14.8 till near the end of the recharge and then soon after it says FUL and stops running (no float stage). However, during the RV converter's Float the 1093 can be used as the "stirrer" by giving the batts a shot of Equalize at 15.7v, which is what I do about once a month. That E feature is automatic with tapering amps starting at 4 amps till it says FUL again so it does not need babysitting. Can do it overnight.
My modified PowerMax now does the 14.8 constant voltage so that would be the one to use in order follow the advice above at the 14.8 level.
The other way to do it is to use one of the adjustable voltage power supply units being discussed lately such as the MeanWell or adjustable PowerMax.
The usual three-stage RV converter can't do what US Battery and the other brands are recommending in their guides, so we have to go "after market" to do it right.
