Jayco 260BHW No Power w/ Battery, Shore or Vehicle connection.

Just bought a new Jayco 260BHW last year and everything worked fine.  Brought it out of storage today and have no power to the unit.  Tried connecting to shore power with no luck.  Jack works fine.  Battery was stored in the house and it measures good. I don't think there's a main power switch to kill everything, in that I disconnect the negative terminal on the battery after every camping trip last year.  Checked breakers, fuses in panel under the fridge, but can't figure what's going on.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • are you sure there is no battery disconnect that got inadvertently turned off?

I have not seen a newer rv with out one in a while now, there may be some out there but it would be far and few between.  I even did that in my 5th wheel, one year I decided to turn it off and forgot I did, took me about 15 min to figure out what was going on as jacks would work but I couldn't turn on a light.

  • Assuming you are referring to the tongue jack still working I assume it's an add on and on a separate wire and fuse straight to the battery.

For the lack of power issue, carefully follow the positive battery wire from the battery post down the tongue until it enters the coach. Many manufacturers put a circuit breaker on that line. It will be a small box somewhere along that wire. I'll bet you have battery voltage on the upstream or battery side of the circuit breaker and nothing on the downstream side.
