JT Strongarms for 5th wheel opinion

This question goes out specifically to those of you that have used a tripod under the hitch of your 5th wheel and later decided to switch to JT Strongarms. Are you pleased with the choice you made in switching to this? I am finding the heavy tripod very cumbersome anymore. I thought of switching to aluminum but then for a bit more I could go the JT route and not have to worry about storing the tripod anymore. I just want to make sure I'm not throwing money away on something. If it at least keeps me where I am now movement wise all will be fine. Sorry for the ramble, I'm just trying to be sure this is the right move.

  • I helped install a set of JT Strongarms on a 36 ft Mobile Suites 5th wheel for a friend. Night and day difference in the stability of their coach. I would say almost rock solid. I was at an rv show and bought a set of Winfield Arms Here
and installed them on my 36 ft Mobile Suites 5th wheel, could not tell any difference in the two companies as far as stability went. Winfield was a bit less expensive and easy to install. Night and day difference in how the rig felt before being stabilized and after. I think they all do the same type of stablizing, some easier to work that others, but you will be very happy with which every system you purchase. I also used my Roto-Choks between the tires in conjunction with the stabilizing arms.
  • We had the kingpin stabilizer for about 2 weeks, ordered the JTs and installed them the day after we received them. LOVE THEM!
  • We installed the Steadyfast two years ago and love it. Took around three hours to install and only three large handles to turn to use it. The owner of the company is great to deal with. He gave me his personal cell phone number to call him with any questions since I installed it on a Sunday. He called me that afternoon to make sure the install went well. Can't beat that kind of service. The system works great, the only major movement we now feel is the washer in its final spin .
  • We have the steadyfast system and love it. We used a pin tripod, and it didn't seem to do much. Steadyfast has excellent customer support, from the owner directly, and very easy install. Great system, and only 3 knobs to tighten.
  • Let me add that I would be open to comments on the Steadyfast setup with those that have it. Thank you for all the comments so far.
  • Get the JT Strongarms and get rid of the tripod, and don't look back. That's what we did and couldn't be happier.
  • I used a tripod the 1st year we had our 5er. Next year I installed JTStrongarms. Very significant difference. Tripod helped a little on shaking. JTs help a lot. Minimal shaking even with washer/dryer running.

Set my tripod in front of the 5er at a campground with a $40 sign on it. Was sold in a couple hours.

Steadyfast are really use to use after installed -- only 3 handles.
