Kitchen sink facet leak. How to remove?

I have a substantial leak in the center of this faucet.* (single lever type) Its leaking
underneath… in the center… not from the hot / cold input lines.

Question: can I repair from the top? IE- remove and replace the
center piece? if so- how?

Anyone have any idea of the manufacture name and/or are these part
universal?

Im hoping I can fix by replacing the center piece on top. Because... the hot/cold
lines are located underneath… behind the sink and nearly inaccessible… I have to
go through a drawer opening in order to reach the water line fittings…

thank you!

  • Thank u. Got the input water lines off...

Major problem now is ...the O thread nuts
are almost un reachable... let alone get enough
force to un tighten... Is there a tool one can
Purchase designed to turn these O Threds?

    Thank u

RV faucets are installed exactly like in your house. Remove the faucet and replace with a new one. Lowes, Home Depot, ACE hardware, any plumbing store, normal household style faucet will work. They are threaded 1/2 inch, same as the Pex plumbing in your camper. So, should be an easy replacement.

Faucets are usually held in place with a simple O threaded ring that tightens up on the bottom side of the counter top. Easy to remove, if you can reach it. That's the problem with RV sinks.... trying to reach it from underneath.

Just replace the faucet. Find a nicer one at any big hardware box store.
  • ID the faucet and check for life time warranty - no charge for my leaky faucet.

In any case probably best to just replace it. I removed cabinet panels for better access. Then a mirror and claw foot wrench to remove it.

And yes access was much more restricted than any home sink I've worked on.

  • reading your post and thinking back in technology, it sounds like you got one of the old tech faucets that seal at the point of rotation of the faucet on top of the sink?

If so the only (it is over) way I did that was replace the faucet with one that has the hose that runs up thru the fixture to a pull out faucet head. Then it is over.

And yes it was s nut roll for a crinkled up ole bod of 70+ years.
