kwikee step

I have a kwikee step with a round megnetic door swith.I noticed that if i move the switch around it would activate the step.I took the switch completely out of the door frame.If i move the wires around on the switch the step starts to operate.I wonder if it would be just a simple task of replacing this part or if their is something else wrong.It doesnt seem to be any damage.It seems to still be together.Their looks to be factory looking sealant around the wiring and seems to be intact.Although i know if their is a short i probably wouldnt be able to see it.

    Yes you can replace that device .. sold at any RV dealer/supply house. That magnetic switch connects to the door switch .. before you replace I would try and insure that the door switch is OK as well as the wiring between the two device. Lastly .. make sure you batteries are OK as Kwikee steps are known to open/close and otherwise act erratically when the batteries get too low.
