Lion Safari UT - new tech battery, not cheap

Anyone sprung $799 to 999 for that battery. Seems to be making inroads into the RV market. A few reviews are popping online.

Lithium-Ion Phosphate, lifetime warranty. 100 AH, 20 lbs. Group 24 size.

I'm sure price will eventually come down.

Just curious.
  • Manufacturer recommends no more than an 80% discharge? If so, I’d need two and there’s the rub.

Bingo! Amazing the difference a single "r" can make.

Sigh another phosphate battery... where are the manganese batteries already!?

Just another Battleborn / Relion nock off? No link and I'm too lazy to googel.

edit: I did a google for lion safari and this was the result, don't see any mention of batteries:

Ah, but if you just add 'battery' to that search you get Lion Safari UT - Lifetime Battery.

Depends on how much 'eventually' you have left. At this point in life it's best to have more money than eventually.
  • 97% of China's lithium comes from Australia. And China is almost ******** their pants to divorce their connection with premium priced products.

I lived through the era of MADE IN JAPAN was a death knell for sales -- to the point where Japan tried renaming one tiny island "OOSA" spelled Usa, then the moniker then morphed to USA, the US justice dept soon remedied Usa.

Red China told Australia if they so much as sell Taiwan one kilo of lithium, their deal was off. Taiwan sells decent tools, excellent electronics, and excellent solar panels. Good luck finding one.

When I read just how much better a made-in USA solar panel is as compared to lower tier Chinese garbage I shook my head. Just like anything else, extraneous companies like Kyrocera and Honda can crack the whip and produce good products in China, but too much of the exports are landfill grade.

  • Agreed absolutely keep an eye on it, while realizing Australia has become a giant marketing base for mainland Chinese products. I keep a close eye on this kind of stuff :)

If product fails simply put in box then spend 300 dollars with DHL

Point taken, forget the warranty, that was not the point of this post.

Based in Utah, with some links to Australia.

It's a new offering that shows promise.
