Guess what it takes to control the electro-chemistry of those batteries ... electronics. Do electronics ever fail ... you bet ... Tesla technology notwithstanding.
I vote for lithiums being kept out of the living compartment and in a place with sheet steel between it and the living area - just like the lead acid AGM batteries are and the big gas tank is - in our rig. :)
