Actually, it should not have a shutoff. Most are wired directly to the batteries. That way the charger will work any time that you are connected to shore power. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi Colo,
The fuse needs to be near or at the battery bank.
The shut off can be anywhere you want it. Mine is close to the inverter.Colo Native wrote:

- haddy1ExplorerFWIW, Tiffin Motorhomes installs almost all (if not all) bottom up in the ceiling of the basement compartments. No issues that I know of.
- westendExplorerIf you mount it to an aluminum plate, the plate will aid in thermal transfer. If you space the plate off of any wood surface, the thermal transfer aid will increase quite a bit. Even 1/4" of space will facilitate a large increase in thermal transfer.
FWIW, I mess around with Large Class A amplifiers and heat transfer is always a concern. A 25W amplifier generates significant heat and the transistors need big heatsinks. Your inverter is a piker in comparison of thermal transfer needed. Space allowed is critical because of the active cooling. Hanging it upside down has little effect on the transfer since the fans inside don't care. Allowing for a space between the case and the mounting surface will aid in heat transfer. Using three washers between the case and the mounting surface on each bolt should allow for 1/4" of space. With a 12" x 12" case, that is 36 cu inches of air space, equivalent to a 4" x 9" vent above the case. - Colo_NativeExplorer

I would like to see yours. Thanks
Mine was installed when the rig was built and the metal frame is welded in place. If pics will help let me know but it will likely be Fri before I can take them. - Colo_NativeExplorer

The main concern is getting the 6" air space.
What exactly does it say about the required space ?
I think you are mis-interpreting that, as it probably requires a 6" space above the unit, regardless of which way it is mounted.
Mounting it upside down then would require a 6" clearance above the "bottom".
it is 6" around the intake and exhaust. " Allow at the minimum, an airspace clearance of 6” at the intake and exhaust vents and 3” everywhere else to provide adequate ventilation." vents are on 3 sides - Sam_SpadeExplorer

just drill (4) holes all the way thru
use long bolts and large washers or alum plate under the bed on the top of the floor - CA_TravelerExplorer IIIMine was installed when the rig was built and the metal frame is welded in place. If pics will help let me know but it will likely be Fri before I can take them.
