Mastech MS2108 Clamp-Meter - Recommended?

Yup, purchased the Mastech MS2108 clamp-on a few months ago from Amazon. Works well. Not the most accurate when making really low amp/ohm readings, but other than that, works well. Has a good, solid feel to it and also comes with a carrying case. It's true RMS and is also capable of making inrush current readings. IMO this clamp-on is an excellent buy for $70-$75.

I used my MS2108 to make numerous current and voltage readings on my TT, both 12 VDC and 120 VAC. Really useful info to have, especially if you have any plans to go DC, even for one night.

Be careful not to confuse the MS2108 with the less expensive MS2108A. The MS2108A is not true RMS and is not capable of reading inrush current. Gotta get the MS2108 (no suffix).

Any verdict on the Mastech MS2108?

Checked out the Sears clamp-on ammeter you guys mentioned. It was on sale for $51. Looks like a nice unit for the money. It also received some decent reviews. Kinda wish it were true RMS and had the inrush current function though. The other clamp-ons at sears.com that I looked at for under $100 didn't have the inrush current function and/or weren't true RMS.

Guess I'm gonna go ahead and order the Mastech MS2108 from Amazon. Got 30 days to check it out, so not taking a big risk :)

That inrush current measurement feature is worth the extra $$ if the sears one does not have it. Assuming it works, it's a great feature to have when considering if a generator can start a load. With that you should be able to measure the current required to start your AC unit and use that info to determine what size generator you need.

I have the Sears, and I like it, but that looks nicer. I'd also probably spend the extra $20 or so.

Nice looking meter and the price seems to be excellent for its whistles and bells.
The only comparison I could suggest it the Craftsman AC/DC clamp on meter. Similar whistle and bells and it sells for about $50 to $60 dollars. I have it and its accuracy is much better than I or the average RVer needs.
Given the choice, I'd spend the few extra bucks and get the one you show.
