My microwave plugs into a 120VAC RECEPTACLE on a open panel on top of the fridge. Maybe if yours is much the same you can plug the Microwave directly into the Honda Generator instead adapting to the trailer Shore Power Cable.
Chances are other 120VAC items may have come on when you was testing. The Honda EU1000i should put out I would think around 120VAC @ 850WATTS. You might check the specs on that.
