My luck needs to change....

In my case a lot of my bad luck has been self inflicted!

Friday the 13th. Ain't going nowhere, ain't eating nothing solid that may require the Heimlich Maneuver, ain't sitting beneath anything that can fall, no plugging anything nor unplugging anything, no scissors, no torch, nothing sharp, ain't talking to strangers, rubbed the Budda's belly as I left. Screw it. If anything can make it through all that it can have me.

As long as you've relinquished your rights in the Templar Knights and don't wear a hockey mask, you should make it through OK. :B

FWIW, I just climbed out of a customer's attic. The ceiling is still in one piece, as am I. That should debunk the myth.

Superstitious?

I never leave on a trip on a Friday, not even to drive 150 miles to an ATM. The last time I got smartassed about this, the toad blew the radiator fan motor and I got gnus for some folks, a MoPar K car cannot drive on the level with no wind, and no load without coolant temperature climbing to 250+F. The faster you go the more it overheats. And this happened with old original stuff and new everything including radiator, water pump, hoses, thermostat you name it. And my IR thermometer agreed with the dash gauge.

To wit: Waiting in line at Harrah's casino in Lake Tahoe to see Sonny & Cher's last performance I got a little lit on V.O. & Water. All the sucker games were lined up on the wall opposite the line. I reached into my parka pocket, fondled a white chip then went to the idiot grade wheel of fortune. I placed the chip on forty-to-one. Round and round the wheel spun. A know-it-all friend kept muttering "Fool".

You guessed it. The wheel landed on 40-1. The girl told another girl at the game alongside to go get the floor manager. He came, then went to a house phone. Dialing upstairs to verify with the snoop crew?

What a fool I was. The white chip was a hundred dollar chip. Yep, they counted out forty one hundred dollar white chips.

"I don't believe this!" My friend shouted. "You are unconscious!"

The date was Friday the thirteenth.

On the way out, the ice was slick and I landed hard, flat on my back. I spent the next week in bed. Go Figure...

I do not pooh-pooh luck, it has nothing to lose.

Oh yea and it continues.... Just set down on the toilet and the seat broke off at the screws.....never seen such a thing ever.

Thank your lucky stars. In a hospital room I sat down where the water level was WAY too high. Pitched forward cracked my elbow against a seat edge and inadvertently yanked out the help-wanted plug and cord. I had a real fun time explaining it all to Ms Bruinhilda the floor R.N.
