The compressor is purpose built for the suspension system. It is an integral part that delivers the correct output pressure and amount.
You are probably looking at $1K, minimum, to get an air suspension system installed. That seems like a high price for leveling a bed and it only affects two axis. I like the idea of a surplus hospital bed, cut down to fit the van space. If bed elevation is critical, I'd suggest to look into that.
