Let me rattle on a little more about resistance just to possibly help you. Think of electricity like water in some ways. Hydraulics are also part of it.
Think of the battery as a 5 gallon bucket. Think of the wires as a garden hose. I think of the charger as a box full of water that the top panel is loose but pretty well sealed. You (weight) stand on that lid and force it down into the box. Your weight is the force or voltage. The number of sq inches of area under that lid are the amps (volume).
The hose size is a limiting factor no matter how may amps or volts you have. If the bucket isn't filling very fast and you ask a friend to stand on the lid with you, you will increase the force (volts) but if the hose can't carry that much volume and force on it the hose could leak (Voltage drop) or if pushed even further, burst (fire or blown fuse).
