Napa 85-5000 battery charger manual

Does anyone know where I can get a manual for a Napa 85-5000 battery charger?

My dad is using one of these chargers to charge 8 GC2 batteries in his offgrid cabin. It's not an RV, but the setup is pretty much the same. 8 batteries (series and parallel outputting 24V), generator and inverter.

I'm trying to figure out if this is the correct charger. I'm thinking it isn't properly charging the batteries.

Not sure what a manual will do for you. It should say right on the unit what a voltage and amperage is.

From a cursory search it looks like that charger does have a 24v setting, but it's the amperage you're going to have to pay for in a much bigger charger for all those batteries. It's tricky trying to separate out each 12v set and charge them equally. I've tried.
  • 2 banks of 4 batteries can use 150 amperes of charge rate at 29.00 volts to minimize generator run time. Use this as a reference when selecting a charger or troubleshooting. Offset the cost of the chargers by fuel and wear and tear saved on the generator.

I'll bet what you have falls far short of this. A pair of highest power SEARS 12 volt chargers would be better than nothing. One for each 12 volt bank.
