Thanks everyone for all advice.
What I learned so far....
- My battery bank is marginal at best
- I should get a 2000 watt inverter to play it safe
- a sub-panel is the likely the most fool proof in the long run
although the my original install is a lot simpler
Pianotuna, Could you elaborate a little more on your setup. I am a little confused as to exactly how it works. thanks
