No heat or AC from motor vents

1996 Winnebago Vectra which is not producing anything from the front vents. The heat blows from the rear vents when the rear heat switch is flipped on while idling but otherwise there is no head/AC/vent/defrost blowing from any vents up front. No fuses were found to be blown.

  • Has this ever worked correctly while you've owned it , or did it suddenly stop working?
  • Mr. Wizard, the black cable in the above picture is what the the slide lever actuates. There is action in the cable in that housing when the lever is being moved. I haven't found the vacuum lines yet though, but definitely no push-button on the controls works to change anything (vent, heat, or AC).
  • Here is a picture inside the grille compartment of the RV, looking at the passenger side at what I'm thinking is the heater compartment. I'm not sure why the two wires (blue) aren't attached to anything. The fan motor compartment I referred to in the previous post is on the backside of this, under the dash.

  • vacuum lines/hoses (very small diameter) connect from the 'control levers/panel' to the heater a/c plenum, open and close flaps to direct air and choose which coil heat or a/c the air will come from
  • If I'm correct, I've found the fan motor compartment under the passenger side dash. I'll look for that inline fuse and check the others. Thanks for the help.
  • Check the fuses with a meter or test light don't just look at them
Find the blower motor itself unde the hood and look close at the wire going to it there should be an inline fuse near there that will look like a bulb in the wire
If all the above check good with a meter or test light unplug the wire from the motor and see if you have power on that wire- if you do and the fan won't run you need a fan motor
    Good Luck, Mike
  • Didn't find any disconnected hoses but not sure exactly where to look.
