Nor cold n811 codes

Until this thread came up, I have never seen a code 6. I have worked on thousands of Norcolds over the years. So, your best bet is to do a hard Board reset as outlined in the Norcold Board reset procedure. The voltage drop should not have cause the problem as for the past 10 years or so, Norcold has engineered their boards to NOT be affected by a slow loss of 12 volt power. Doug

If this is IN the RV, you have a Converter/Battery problem. There should NEVER be DC voltage higher than 14 volts in an RV. The HIGH voltage is your problem. Doug

WHERE are you getting the DC supply from? That voltage should NOT be higher than 13.8 volts. The 17.75 is your problem. This is a 12 volt appliance you have. Doug

Grounded the pin to the metal backing on the fridge for 2 minutes, with the unit on and the code flashing. No change. I have not been observing the light WHILE I am grounding the pin to see if there are any changes during the process, just after.

The Voltage is tested at the 2 connections YOU make to the board. Ground(neg) and 12 volt positive. Do those 2 wires have this voltage? To reset you may have to ground that pin for at least 30 seconds before it resets. Doug

I have the new style board. Still flashing 5 times. Swapped the only connections that I could have crossed during re-assembly, and no change. Checked voltage at the lower right hand pin marked 12vdc, and got 18 volts. Is that normal? I'm really lost. Don't know how I could have installed the cooling unit wrong, but I'm no expert.

We don't have an n811 anymore but do have a service manual from when we did. I don't know how to attach a link but if you send a message we can email it to you.

PS this is a service manual,not an owner's manual.
