Norcold 1200 & customer support

To all the naysayers about Norcold customer service....
I've read probably every post here on the forum regarding the Norcold 1200...troubleshooting, maint. etc. My unit crapped out three weeks ago & this morning I have a great functioning refrigerator/freezer...:B Thanks to this web site & Norcolds website, I now have a fully functional refer...cost???? ZERO!!!!
My motorhome is a 1999 Thor residency....I traded the equity in my home for it two months ago. I drove down to Morristown Az. & hooked up in a park...then the fridge crapped out...while trying to figure out what to do, I finally noticed that the serial number on the COOLING UNIT was under recall...(NOT THE REFRIGERATOR SERIAL NUMBER) When I called Norcold & gave them all my information, they told me straight up that they would be fixing it on their dime...
Yesterday, Jeffery Wood from Palm Valley RV & Mobile in Surprise Az. showed up & replaced the entire cooling unit on the back of the fridge!!! I'm astounded at the great service I've been given...especially for a unit that is over 15 years old!!!!

Before any of ya'll give Norcold bad feedback, I'd suggest you call them with all the information & see what they have to say....I was totally in awe of the service I received...

    You're right Doug...it depends on the "COOLING UNIT" serial number.
    When I called Norcold, they took my information & within minutes they informed me that they would be supplying a new cooling unit & would pay all costs associated...NEVER have I been so impressed with customer service....This service & customer support has convinced me that Norcold products & services are top shelf...they even found a mobile repair guy to come to my park to do the repair...I couldn't be more satisfied....

  • Did they supply you with a brand new NORCOLD-brand cooling unit? Did anyone say anything about it being a new and improved design?
    I'm curious because I ended up replacing mine myself (same model), but I went with an after-market brand,....long story.
