Norcold 1200 recall
Just wanted to post my experience with the Norcold 1200 side by side RV fridge.
My original coach was the 1993 Pace Arrow Diesel Pusher. It had a Domatic RM 2852 with ZERO problems for the 7+ years I owned it. As a matter of fact it still has all the original hardware. Even my two Hydroflame furnaces along with the hot water heater stil have the original ignitor boards & such.
Upgrade to a 2007 Fleetwood Discovery 39V with the Norcold 1200 Side by Side.
When I first fired up te norcold & got the dreaded error message. I looked at the backside & saw that the Norcold recal had already been done! Man did that burner assembly look scarey!
I ended up testing the fridge & determined the cooling unit was "gassed out". Note that I NEVER left the coach while testing the cooling unit.
Rather than swap out with a rebuilt cooling unit we decided to go with the NEW Amish cooling unit. Ordered it on a Monday & had it by Thursday!
Installed the cooling unit the following Saturday & happy to see it FROZEN in the freezer Sunday AM! working like a champ! The ice maker is now "chuck full O ice cubes" LOL
Have an external drink station but found the solenoid was bad. NOTE that the vale has TWO solenoids, Ice maker & drink despenser. The Ice Machine solenoid is 120VAC & the drink despenser is 12VDC so you can't pick one up at the hardware store or applicnce center. My solenoid valve is wrapped in heat tape as well. The water lines to both ICE & drink stations are wrapped with heat tape. When my new solenoid shows up I'll re-install te heat tape.
VERY happy with RVCOOLINGUNIT.COM
Funny story, Shot them a message early Sunday AM & immediatly got a responce! I almost fell over!
Fantastic to work with!
