Norcold 2118 problems?

On my Momentum 328 the Norcold reefer didn't work from day 1. Took it in and they replaced the cooling unit and the best it does set on 9 is 10 degrees in the freezer and 47 in the fridge! Another bad cooling unit? Anyone else having this problem with their Norcolds?
  • The 2118 has a total of 5 cooling fans and ALL must function for this model to operate. You have 2 internal fans, 1 for the freezer and 1 for the refer. You also have 3 external fans --2 at the top below the condenser fins and 1 below about 1 foot from the back bottom. ALL must function for this refer to cool correctly. I would be checking the operation of these fans and also HOW the refer was installed in the RV. These large RV refers require that they be installed exactly to spec for ventilation requirements. IS THIS REFER IN A SLIDE ROOM? If so, then ventilation is extremely critical and the exhaust of the hot air out the top door is also critical. Doug
  • You refrigerator should be below 40 for safe food storage. Freezers down to at least 10 degrees, closer to 0 is better. We have a norcold -different model so setting different, but with it set mid-way on the temperature choices, refrigerator is 34-35 degrees and freezer about 5 degrees. And, it's 18 years old. It will not keep ice cream though unless it's turned all the way to the coldest setting and then the fins frost and freeze - so we don't buy ice cream very often. Did they check to see if the cooling fans outside are working? Ours went out and it raised the refrigerator temp by 10-15 degrees. Something is not right.
