This is from the Norcold manual and comes from the troubleshooting chart:
Temperatures given below are based on 90 °F ambient
temperature, correct ventilation, and operation at coldest
setting for a period of 8-12 hours.
? Freezer -5 °F to -10 °F.
? Fin temperature 18 °F to 25 °F.
So it appears that the refer should get to temperature much more quickly than many of them do.
Correct......wiring element directly to 120V AC power bypasses circuit board. Leave 12V DC connected.
You are just unplugging element leads from board and plugging them in directly to a 120V AC source. (Unplug fridge cord and use that outlet)
Element will stay on continuously. IF cooling unit is properly functioning you will get maximum cooling----food section should get down below 32*F (Fin temps run 10*F lower than compartment temp)
Run it overnight and then check temps.
IF cooling unit is OK then your cooling issues could be thermistor or circuit board related.
