OK, I'll bite. Why replace the thermistor? I can easily control the fridge temp using the refrigerator controls. If I set it to 9, it's too cold. If I reduce it to 7, it warms a bit; if I set it to 5 it's warmer yet. The thermistor MUST be working or the refrigerator would not respond to the change in the control setting.
If the refrigerator senses the changes, the thermistor must be working right?? Please explain WHY you think the thermistor needs to be changed.
Because the resistance can be intermittent (non-linear and not accurate), they fail far more often than the boards, and they are a fraction of the cost of a new board.
You also said that it made no difference running on LP or AC, which would point to a fault external to the board.
