When we were camped for the 8 days in Arkansas, we had 120V power, and battery power. Of course, ac power wasn't at the 120V level, but yes, it was plugged in and the fridge was manually switched to run on propane. And when on propane, the thermistor seemed to work just as it should. Battery voltage varied between 12.7 and 13.3 at the battery itself according to the battery monitor.

You say your thermistor MELTED? in the refrigerator attached to the fins at the back? I don't think I understand.
