- brulazExplorerI'm lazy (and cheap) and used an ancient plastic toy box we had lying around.
But it's all hidden in back of the clothes closet so it doesn't really matter :)
As long as it works, I tell myself. At least I didn't use duct tape!

Oh, that sounds good! I want to make some kinda panel in my new van, also for my 12v / usb socket. But I hesitate to make temporary thing for old van! - MrWizardModeratori have some little plastic, spring clamps, but mine was already on the wall

i used a plastic project box, with alu face plate, from the electronics hobby store - NaioExplorer III bought one of these, too, thanks to you folks' recommend.
I haven't hooked it up yet, thinking I am going to get a new van. Though maybe I should be testing it.
I appreciate the warnings about the setup button! I might try vicegrips or some other clamp :) - brulazExplorer

setting the current amount of amp hrs .. is slow
i haven't timed it, but i think the number count increases about 1amp hr every 2 seconds, so setting 400 or 500 amp hrs, as present charge/amphr count is a long time holding the button

No kidding. Luckily I had something to read close by.
Finally got this thing installed and working. Like the Wiz I installed it to measure net current; the shunt sits on the negative post of my battery bank.
Calibrated V and charge Amps against my Rogue mppt readings.
Checked some higher discharge Amps with my clamp-on ammeter, and they were close enough (inverter load wasn't very steady). This 100A unit might be good to +-1 amp? Very roughly comparing it to the Rogue ...
At one point I decided to reset to factory defaults and start the calibration over. But when I did, all the readings just went to 0 and stayed there. Then I temporarily removed power, and it reset and I could start over.
What a really nice unit. Love watching the current flow. - MrWizardModeratorShould work with ANY DC system you might want to monitor b on an RV
What you measure
Solar, converter, wind generator, alternator, or All combined
Depends on where you place it in the wiring
Should be no problem using it to measure solar power just place it in the 'solar' charge circuit at the battery
Mine is installed to measure everything in and out of the battery bank - PatrickA51ExplorerMrWizard
I have an older system from AMSolar. I also have a Xantrex 2000W Prosine Inverter. The Xantrex Control Panel still works fine. The AMSolar control Panel took a dump and doesn't read correctly.(the leds went south) Other wise it works also. will this unit work with that system? - MrWizardModeratormine has stabilized ?
and is giving me good readings
i'm down 45amp Hrs since suppertime, TV PC, and 3 small desk type 120v fans, LED lights and the Bedroom 10" fan and (1) Fantastic Fan and residential Fridge
we are NOT power misers, we are power hogs - tdhartExplorer
Bought this, installed it this weekend. Very happy. I also bought 30 feet of 4 conductor wire to run from the battery / shunt back to the display unit. Quite accurate. - MrWizardModeratorIt does have a way to set new default values
So a power reset condition will bring you back to your programmed values
But that is still a reset condition, it stops working when power is off,
No tracking..
