Onan propane generator won't start

I have a 2006 Winnebago View with a Onan generator. The generator turns over but won't start. Gas is on. All other appliances start/work. Last time we used it was about 6 weeks ago. Worked fine then.
Thanks
Tim

  • Got it to start on shore power so I'm going to clean the battery cables. I'll check the vent tube heard about that on another forum. Had a mud dobber nest take out the heater/furnace once. Thought I cleared out/screened all the nesting spots.

    Thanks

  • Check the basics:
    Intake and exhaust not plugged.
Propane tank actually full....IE a leak hasn't occurred since you last looked.
    Spark plug making a spark.

Then if you have a propane torch or can borrow one, you can test the engine itself by "injecting" some propane into the air intake as it cranks over. If it tries to run like that, the regulator might have failed.

The 2800, so probably the 3600, has a little vent line on/near the carburetor. Make sure it hasn't been plugged with a bug nest. I wish I remembered more about that, but I know a few OP's here had issues.
