Since arriving at a new park, I've been having electric issues - suspected low voltage. Maintenance came and metered at pedistal. 120v.My Surgeguard has knocked me off a few times. 50amp by the way. Been kicking off with elect water heater, microwave, and maybe heatpump on. Might sound like a lot been system has been fine in other locations right up till we arrived here. One giveaway of low power has been the microwave sounding like it's "starving" for power. I have run the genset (7000w) and everything runs give including the microwave.Tonight I tested all 110 outlets. All tested st 120-121 except the microwave dedicated outlet with dedicated breaker. It tested at 109-110.Any ideas? Of course, the park is claiming all is good.

You may wish to turn off the water heater and heat pump when running the microwave. They may be on the same power leg as the microwave.

Measure the voltage at the mwave breaker. If its low there, go,further, if it's fine, replace the outlet.

Metering at the pedestal with no load says the source voltage is okay. It doesn't tell you if the wiring and outlet are okay. There is no voltage drop when there is no load. It may be hard to do but you need to verify pedestal voltage while under load. You may be able to back the plug out a little, enough to get some meter leads in and check the voltage when running the normal appliances in the MH.

Can/does the surgeguard "sense" a problem down stream of the device? I thought it only "read" incoming? Can the DRAW on a single circuit, reduce the current to the entire unit without tripping that circuit's breaker? Two seperate problems??

As I said, the park electrician ran the wrong test. He tested L-1 to L-2 HE DID NOT test either L-1 or L-2 to neutral Now if he is a real electrician, even a park handyman, HE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN Better so he basically lied to you. That is my opinion.

I cheat, I have my own meters.

I think your answer is right here. At certain times of the day the total park load causes one line to sag. He also said the park is OLD. So probably needs a wiring/line load balancing upgrade.

OK, lets run this down.
1. you have 100 amps of CG service(50 amp service)
2. 2 AC units equals about 28 amps total draw
3. AC and M/w about 25 amps (Hi HEAT on M/W)
4. That leaves you with 70 amps plus remaining
5. I could get 240 volts at the CG plug if I had just 2-14 gauge wires supplying the Receptacle
6. As another posted, what you NEED is the 120 on each leg measured with the Common Neutral and each leg with various loads. Doug

If he didn't measure each leg individually with the load running, he didn't do a complete test. It could be a bad neutral issue, which wouldn't show up in a leg-to-leg reading.

that totally depends on how the coach is wired. Ours has the WH and 2nd AC compressor on the 2nd leg. And it goes through the ATS

On a 50 amp system you most likely have most outlets on one side L-1 or L-2 of the line. The other side has the microwave outlet on it and its voltage is low at the pedestal. So yes it's a park problem.

And we go back to my reply, the 3rd one in this thread. Measure voltage at the pedestal while under load. With no load the worst corroded connections will read 120v. Under load the voltage will drop considerably.
