park model change 120V to 12 volt

I am thinking of a permanent aff the grid trailer and looking at some park models that are 120 volt. Is it possible to install a Rv converter to take it to 12 volt to run off a battery to run lights fridge water pump etc. Would I have to change all the light fixtures to 12 volt as well. Any help is appreciated

  • Do not convert anything. Pull new 12v wire to new fixtures and new accessories as needed.
  • thanks guys. i will look for a trailer that already has one built in
  • I don't think a park model uses 12v. Or maybe 'park model' means something different from what I think it means.
  • If the Park model requires 120v for all the appliances you don't need an RV converter. These change 120v AC into 12v DC. What you would need is an inverter which changes 12v DC into 120v AC.
However, I don't think you want to do that. Inverters are expensive and will waste some power. It would probably be easier to just find a standard RV that is configured for 12v.
  • Google this phrase: "tiny house off-grid electrical system"

The results will give you tons of info to sort through.
