I repaired similar damage as that on the corner and it aint that bad..just take it one step at a time and take a lot of pic.
I did take the pics to a local reputable RV repair place. He told me $300 to $600 for repairs...rebuilding the wood, etc, but of course with the proviso that no one will REALLY know til it's torn open.
I asked...what's the worst case scenario...he said $1000.
But...I chose to be more conservative and follow the advice given here...but I hear you, it MIGHT not have been too bad.
For that price the dealer must only be putting on some large L brackets on the outside to hold the corner together. I would make sure I fully understood what the repair was going to be and the look of it.
I have a hard time believing that they are tearing off the sheathing both inside and outside, fixing any structural damage then replacing the sheathing for a nice fit and finish. A repair shop will charge $65-120 hr You really don't get much done for $300.
X2 might be possible to quote that for materials not labor. I'm rebuilding a corner on an rv now, very time consuming will have 300 in materials.
Called a local repair place that specializes in this kind of repair. He said it starts at 2k and goes up from there depending on damage.
P.S. Afrer having to deal with this I'm in the run dont walk away camp! Mine also showed NO signs of damage on the outside. Just a soft spot in the luan/wallpaper in upper left front corner. It was real ugly when I got it torn apart.
