My A E is supposed to dump but it doesn't. It loads up in the middle.
Mine doesn't have a knob its spring loaded on the aft side.
What I observed is that if you run it all the way out, the sewed seam makes a valley that collects water.
If I retract the awning just an inch or so the seam is on top of the tube and water doesn't pool anymore..it runs over the edge and doesn't pool up.
Sometimes I'll throw a rope over the dump arm, pull it down and tie it off.
