Problem with new Atwood furnace

Just took delivery on new Winnie. Front furnace worked fine during PDI on Thursday. No heat this morning. Fan running, blowing cold air. Can't hear tick-tick-tick of igniter. Propane lines have been bleed of air. It's obviously under warranty, but thought there might be a quick fix. I suspect control board, but is there a fuse to check? Other ideas?

  • 1. If the fan runs there are no fuses to check
    2. IF it does NOT light, it should shut the fan OFF within 5 minutes. Does it shut the fan OFF?
    3. Since it is NEW, odds are the Hi limit switch has opened. If you bang the exhaust vents(after removing outside access door) for a few seconds that will sometimes close the hi limit switch. BUT, if this is the case, you need it replaced as it is a weak switch. Doug

Access circuit board and check for blinking LED

    Fault ------------------------------- LED Indication

Internal Circuit Board fault -------- Steady on, no flashing

    Limit switch/Airflow problems ------- 1 flash with 3-second pause

Flame Sense fault ------------------- 2 flashes with 3-second pause

Ignition Lockout Fault -------------- 3 flashes with 3-second pause

Thanks, will check that when I get off the road later today.
  • Check that you still have propane. Maybe switch tanks to see if that helps. Sometimes it's the little things :-)

  • Check for closed heater vents or other restrictions that cause the SAIL SWITCH to not complete the "start cycle". Low voltage will also contribute to insufficient air flow to close the sail switch.
