Propane Level?

I have a screw in gauge that I bought at Lowes it goes between the bottle and the regulator, it seems accurate enough for my use.
I have tried the magnetic ones and they do not work very well. They also make a clear tank now (expensive)they are lighter in weight and you can see the amount of propane in it, Camping world has these

Keep tapping the side of the tank with your knuckles. Notice the sound. Tap the other tank (full), notice the sound. When you know one tank is finally empty (because there no flame at the stove or the furnace is heating), tap both again. You'll hear the difference in the tone. Remember that tone. When both tanks are full again, they'll sound almost the same. As you use one tank the tapping pitch will begin to change. After a while, by simply tapping the side of the tanks, you'll be able to tell how full they are. I've been doing this for years.

Do you have an automatic changeover regulator?
If so the regulator indicator will show red when one bottle is empty.
There is a lever or pointer that will be pointing to the empty tank.
When you see red... move the lever to point at the other tank and get the empty tank filled.
Repeat indefinitely. Check daily if running the furnace moderate to heavy.

I keep an eye on the auto changeover. When it turns red, one tank is empty and time to get it filled.

If you have a Marshall 254 changeover regulator, you can get a remote indicator.

Release the strap and rock the tank. You'll get used to how it feels when full vs. not full.
