Well I returned very early this morning from Sebring, Florida where I used my Elim 3000 from Thursday to Monday. I had no high power requirements as it wasn't hot enough for AC but I did use the microwave, coffee maker, TV, radio and lights. It started the first time every time and some of those starts were without the choke. Most generators in use (this was at the 12 hrs of Sebring sportscar race) were much, much louder. I probably used it about 10-12 hours in three and a half days. I think I may have used 3 gallons of gas.
For my needs - a few times each year at races - it works great!
I did see and spoke with a gentleman with a Yamaha EF2800i. It's a great generator and of course very quiet. But it's also $800 more.
I also saw a Honda EU7000, which is also very quiet.
All in all after using the Elim 3000 for the weekend I'm very happy with it.
