You can also go to a Yamaha motorcycle or ATV shop, and buy a hour meter/tach all in one, they are design for single cylinder 4 stroke motors. They also are black which looks good. I mounted mine on the front panel then ran the pick-up cord through the frame over to the spark plug wire. All you do is wrap it around the spark plug wire 4 or 5 times then zip tie. When the generator in NOT running it shows hours, to the tenth, then when you start generator is show engine RPM, kinda nice. Mine runs 3720 RPM, no load and 3660 with load. Just nice to see!!
