Thanks. Ahh, the difference between knowledge and wisdom/experience.
It is said"the rules are taught to youngsters in school, and the exceptions are known by the old guys in the field"....
I had converted the "chonda" to tri-fuel; so I would not be stuck at the home site without power for an extended time, via natural gas(which is piped to my unattached garage for heat)and/or propane, which I store for several different applications.
The generator is not all that efficient in any iteration, and having power to run the home barely is all that I require.
As for the entry of the RV LPG extended stay fixture to couple to outside tanks?, get one!
I did and do not regret it; I run BBQ,faux campfire, lanterns,or any combination of those(with a splitter at the end of a 12'hose, with 2 5' hoses that terminate in the 1# female cylinder end fitting),and as a matter of fact,Farm and Fleet has an adapter to refill those little cans.
I don't know if it is safe, but it is neat.
The other threaded fitting in that pre regulator fitting configuration is to hook up a 40-100# tank, enough to run heat, hot water, etc. for a good long time in cool weather.
I put one on my "C" camper, and have one now on my "A" Roadyacht.
I love to cook, so it is essential I can have fire, and hot cleaning water.
I would convert my Onan genset to propane, but it isn't at the top of the to do list yet; I would add solar to my inverter first.
And yes, it is a faux sine inverter, and so far, nothing bad has happened, and it is the one I installed/removed from the "C" camper I traded.
4 years and counting...9 months of the year to camp in the mid west.
Thanks to you all, we are going to the FMCA in Rockford, posting from there friday nite.
