Nothing wrong with running the genset to run AC. It is very common here. But do consider fuel prices and genset maintenance costs vs a campground with shore power. The campground can be the less expensive answer, if it suits your tastes and needs.
Depending on the altitude where you camp, you will be fine or may have an issue restarting a warm AC compressor.
